Those principles have shaped our approach from the very beginning, so we’re proud to announce that Elevas has been awarded Silver Status by the Supply Chain Sustainability School (SCSS).
The Supply Chain Sustainability School is one of the UK’s leading learning and improvement organisations for the construction and infrastructure sectors, recognising businesses that demonstrate a commitment to sustainability, responsible business practices and continuous development. While the accreditation itself is an important milestone, for us it represents something much bigger. It reflects the foundations on which Elevas has been built and reinforces the standards we set ourselves every day.
Although Elevas is still a young business, sustainability has never been something we’ve viewed as a future ambition. It has been embedded into our thinking from day one. Every investment we’ve made, whether in our fleet, our facilities or our people, has been driven by a long-term vision of creating a business that delivers exceptional service while continually improving the way it operates.
That commitment can be seen throughout our operations. We’ve invested in a modern fleet with an average vehicle age of just three years, helping us reduce emissions while providing reliable, efficient transport and lifting solutions for our customers. An increasing proportion of our equipment also incorporates battery-powered technology, allowing us to carry out lower-emission operations wherever practical. Behind every movement, our logistics team carefully plan routes using adaptive transport planning, helping reduce unnecessary mileage, improve efficiency and minimise environmental impact.
Our facilities have been developed with the same philosophy. Operating from our newly constructed storage hub, strategically located close to Junction 10 of the M6, allows us to support projects across the nation from one central location. More importantly, it enables us to provide secure, centralised storage while reducing unnecessary handling, transport movements and operational inefficiencies. Being based in the heart of the country allows us to respond quickly to our customers while keeping projects moving as efficiently as possible.
For us, however, sustainability extends far beyond the environment. It’s equally about creating a business that supports the people who work within it and the communities around it. We’re committed to investing in employee wellbeing through regular health checks, career development conversations and access to mental health support, while introducing driver development initiatives that promote safer, more efficient driving practices and continual professional development.
We’re equally proud of the role we play within our local community. A publicly accessible defibrillator has been installed at the entrance to our facility, providing an emergency resource for those nearby, and as Elevas continues to grow we’re looking forward to expanding our support for charitable organisations and community initiatives that make a lasting difference.
Receiving Silver Status is something we’re incredibly proud of, but we don’t see it as the finish line. Like every successful project, it’s another milestone in a much longer journey. As Elevas continues to develop, we’ll keep investing in more sustainable ways of working, strengthening our environmental and social performance, and building upon the responsible business practices that define who we are.
Ultimately, this accreditation provides our customers with confidence that they’re working with a business committed not only to delivering projects successfully, but to doing so responsibly, professionally and with the future in mind.
