Driving Higher Standards: Elevas Achieves FORS Bronze Accreditation

At Elevas, we believe that the highest standards aren’t achieved overnight. They are built through continual investment, robust processes and a commitment to improving every aspect of the way we operate. Whether supporting a transport movement, coordinating a lifting operation or delivering a complete project support solution, our objective remains the same: to provide our customers with complete confidence from start to finish.

That commitment has now been recognised through the achievement of Bronze Accreditation with the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS), marking another important milestone in the continued development of the Elevas business.

Recognised throughout the transport industry, FORS is a nationally respected accreditation programme that promotes best practice in fleet management, road safety, environmental performance and operational compliance. Achieving Bronze status demonstrates that our transport operations have been independently assessed against rigorous industry standards, providing assurance that the systems supporting our fleet are both robust and continually evolving.

For Carl Waddilove, Transport & Logistics Manager at Elevas, the accreditation represents far more than a certificate.

“The scheme encourages ongoing progress in our safety, efficiency and environmental performance, aligning with recognised industry benchmarks,” Carl explains. “Achieving Bronze is the first step in our journey towards attaining FORS Gold accreditation by the end of the year.”

That ambition reflects the wider philosophy behind Elevas. As a growing business, we’re committed to establishing strong foundations from the very beginning, embedding recognised best practice into every aspect of our operations rather than introducing it later.

Achieving FORS Bronze followed a comprehensive three-month accreditation process, led by Carl alongside colleagues from across the Elevas team. While many of the required systems and procedures were already embedded within the business, the process provided an opportunity to further strengthen our operational policies, enhance driver development and demonstrate compliance across every area of fleet management.

Additional training was completed in areas including driver fitness declarations, security and counter-terrorism awareness, Bridge Smart training and Low City Driving, ensuring our team continues to develop the knowledge and skills needed to operate safely, responsibly and professionally.

For Carl, pursuing FORS accreditation was always about more than achieving an industry standard.

“FORS accreditation is recognised throughout the transport industry,” he says. “It helps us strengthen our position when bidding for contracts and securing work, while demonstrating to customers that we’re committed to operating to recognised industry standards.”

That commitment extends beyond compliance alone. It influences the decisions we make every day, from investing in a modern fleet with an average vehicle age of just three years to adopting technologies and working practices that improve both efficiency and environmental performance. Every vehicle within our fleet meets Euro 6 emissions standards, while advanced safety technologies—including comprehensive camera systems, audible turning warnings and enhanced driver awareness measures—help protect vulnerable road users and promote safer operations across our fleet.

Behind every movement, our logistics team carefully monitor fuel consumption and utilise adaptive route planning to identify the most efficient journeys possible. Combined with ongoing vehicle maintenance programmes and continual driver development, these initiatives help reduce unnecessary mileage, lower emissions and improve operational efficiency without compromising the quality of service our customers expect.

Carl believes these improvements deliver tangible benefits for customers as well as the wider environment.

“Our accreditation encourages us to adopt eco-driving techniques and closely monitor fuel consumption,” he explains. “By promoting best practice in vehicle maintenance, route planning and driver behaviour, we’re able to reduce carbon emissions, improve efficiency and provide a first-class service at competitive rates.”

During the independent FORS audit, Elevas achieved Bronze accreditation with no non-conformances identified, reinforcing the robust operational standards and culture of continual improvement that underpin our day-to-day activities.

While we’re incredibly proud of this achievement, we see it as another step forward rather than a final destination. Work is already underway as we continue our journey towards FORS Gold accreditation, building upon the foundations established through Bronze while further strengthening our safety, environmental and operational performance.

For our customers, achieving FORS Bronze provides confidence that every project is supported by a business committed to recognised best practice, continual improvement and delivering the highest standards of professionalism.

Because at Elevas, raising standards isn’t something we do to achieve an accreditation – It’s simply how we choose to do business.
